Sunny Beach Kitten Hat

Thank you for visiting this blog. This is my second crochet pattern that been written since November 2020, hehe. In this post we will make Sunny Beach Hat for kitten. It has flowy brim which make it looks cute. I suggest this hat wear by 3 - 9 months kitten but if you want to make for adult cat, it's ok. The pattern is adjustable. You only need to add more stitches in each row.

Talk about stitch, we still use basic stitch a.k.a single crochet and still use magic ring. Why magic ring? because it make perfect round shape with no hole. This project is fun and also easy to make.

Here's hat we will be making.

Materials we need : Yarn - you can use any type of yarn. I'm using black and blue yarn scrap, hook 3 mm, yarn needle, and scissor.

Abbreviations

sc : single crochet

sl st : slip stitch

Steps

• First, make magic ring. Ch 2 and 8 sc, fasten off, sl st in 2 ch. (9 st)
• Row 2. Make 2 ch and sc in next st. (9 st). Sl st.
• Row 3. Make 2 ch and sc in same st. Make 2 sc in next 9 st (18 st).
• Row 4 - 8. Ch 2 and sc in first st and 1 sc in next stitch. Remember, make 2 sc in odd st and 1 st in even st. (you will have 21 sc), sl st (27 st)

---- Ear loop ----

• Row 9. Sc in next 2 st, 2 sc in 3rd st, repeat 3 times (12 st). Ch 15, skip 5 st. Sc in next 2 st, 2 sc in next st, repeat 3 times (12 st). Ch 15, skip 5 st. Sl st.
• Row 10. Make 2 ch and sc in same st. Make 2 sc in 11 st, then sc in every ch. Repeat 2 times.
• Row 11. Ch 2 and sc in first st and 1 sc in next stitch. Remember, make 2 sc in odd st and 1 st in even st. Sl st in ch 2.
• Row 12 - 13. Ch 2 and Sc in every st. Tie off and weave.

Additional: 

If you want to make the brim more bigger, you can add more rows by sc in every stitch.

I add 2 string in both of 8th ch (Remember, we make 15 ch for earloop) of the earloop by chain 20.

Voila! it's done.

I did put this hat on my kittens and obviously I really want to show how it looks on them but none of them love to wear something.

It breaks my heart whereas I want to make many kind of accessories for my pets because I assure their cuteness level will gain +10000000%. I knew they not getting used to it but I will not crochet something like this stuff, so this project is enough for me.
